Hooray, the new fridge has arrived in town and it's exquisit! (Well, that's its brand, but anyway...)

The one time you really need a man in your life: When you are desperately trying to lift a heavy fridge up the stairs to your apartment while the theme from "Charlie's Angels" is playing in your head and a discarded Christmas thingie in the trashcan is bleeping "Wish you a merry Christmas" and you are desperately trying not to laugh because then no way in hell can you ever lift the fridge and did they not say it had wheels underneath...

But all ended well as a well-meaning neighbor delivered us from our struggle with the heaviest appliance this side of our Washing Machine (which, I might add, is filled with concrete).

So if you have something that you want frozen, by all means, stop by as we can now accomodate everybody's freezing needs!! And I might even cook something for you that I unthawed. But for that you will have to wait as the freezer is not filled with anything as of yet...

Yes, dear, I totally agree with you...the eightball obviously is lying through its teeth and will have to be punished!!! Let's throw it off something high tonight. That'll teach it.

I actually am in a good mood today because we are getting a new fridge...hooray! Frozen food galore!! And maybe a chance to secretly throw out the soy milk...you Vegans are strange people, I have to tell you. Yuck!

Now off to the homestead to have dinner with los parentes...away!

Totally unrelated...The German Mob apparently has discovered a worthwhile target: Steven Seagal. Muahahaha.
The Comments (or as we like to call them nowadays...the "poseurs") are seriously fucked up again..I hate this. Can't they just keep their site up and running? Must shop around for new Comments, I guess. Also my guestbook doesn't work anymore. But since none of you ever wrote in it, I guess I'll just delete it...There.
Just came back from seeing the Two Towers again - holds up even better the second time around, I must say. This time we got to see it without talking neighbors (but only after we shushed them up...what is it with those people???) While I still did not like the Ent effects, I must say I have a little soft spot in my heart for the Ent who douses his head in the stream after being set on fire.

On the subject of trees...I am in distress for my little Bonsai. Since I took his Christmas decorations away, he has never been the same and is starting to lose his leaves. I sincerely hope he will recover. Please include him in your nighttime prayers, if you may.

Apart from that, today pretty much everything that could go wrong, actually did. But I have decided not to let stupid things get me down anymore to enhance my outlook on life and thus to make the world a better place for everyone around me. A little deal of mine I cut with the universe, by the way. Now I guess I'll just have to wait and see what comes of this.

I have to second Uli's thoughts about the cellphones somehow. On the other hand, they can be rather useful as I discovered the other day when I had forgotten mine somewhere and was forced to spend the whole day without it. That, of course, was the day I forgot where I was supposed to meet some people and hence had to look for a phone booth for god's sake.

But nothing is more disconcerting than a non-ringing cellphone, I agree. Not that anybody was trying to call me. I am just saying.

Today, Uli and me went and started on her quest to become Sporty Spice...sometimes I would more agree with said Spice Girl's statement that one would rather be Fat and Lazy Spice, but actually today it was quite fun. Need to go out and exercise more, I guess. Takes your mind off things, which we both really are in dire need of.

While her phone is not ringing, I am perpetually suspended in a state of shocked limbo, sort of. But it is not Happy Limbo I mentioned a couple of posts earlier...I can't really describe what I mean. I feel sort of strange/weird/mysterious/undecided/whatever. Plus, my stomach really hurts and I think I might be developing an ulcer. Great. Just what I need.

I've been wondering why I feel so restless lately...today I figured it out...

Up to now I've been in the limbo between years...nothing really to do...holidays galore. And tomorrow everything gets into gear again...the "real life" will start...I will have to worry about things again. A job. My final paper. Getting things done.

I hate worrying. But I guess I just am the worrying kind of person. New Year's resolution #2: Stop worrying :)

Today's slowly but steadily progressing to be one of those Sundays...

You know...hanging around listlessly, having stuff to do but really not feeling like doing anything...

At least it's snowing outside, but I guess that makes it even more hard to get some energy going..sort of mutes everything outside and inside. It's getting dark, too..and it's not even 5 p.m. As much as I like snow and cold weather I'm starting to feel like it could be summer again.

Topic: New Year's resolutions

I don't think one should have any. It's just pointless, as nobody ever keeps their resolutions. For years, I thought: Well, I'll just make one resolution, it'll be easier to keep. But all it did was give me a bad conscience because I didn't. So I don't. Does that make any sense? I'm rambling again. New year's resolution #1: Don't ramble. :)

Back again....I'll just give you a quick update of our trip: It involved:

  • snow
  • sunshine
  • lots of drinks
  • the Atomic Pro skiing team (and friends)
  • a black eye
  • more drinks
  • famous Hansi Roesch
  • a red eye
  • Scottish guys who turned out to be Irish

In short...we hat loads of fun...Happy New Year!!!
